Mehrzad Sharbaiani opened Z’s Oyster Bar & Steakhouse in Louisville, Kentucky in October 2000. In February 2012, Sharbaiani announced his second location in Louisville, in the heart of downtown Louisville. With a concept centered around fresh seafood and prime steak, the independently owned and operated fine dining establishment has acquired a superb reputation for both food quality and selection as well as for its impeccable service.

In addition to the award winning wine list, the menu features Prime Midwestern beef and fresh seafood flown in daily from “dayboat fishermen” all simply prepared to accentuate natural flavors and qualities. Z’s selects the best oysters from the Pacific Northwest.
Featuring over 475 wines, Z’s has won the Wine Spectator “Award of Excellence” for the last 11 years. In addition, our restaurant has received the highest distinction of the International Restaurant and Hospitality Rating Bureau by receiving the Diamond Wine Award. Triple A presented the restaurant with the Four Diamond Award for the last 10 years. The North American Restaurant Association honored the restaurant by giving us their highest award, the Award of Excellence.
